High School Snow Trip

"Brrr is it me or is it snowing?" says Juan Moises, a 7 Tepees High School Youth, after waking up early the first morning of the snow trip in Arnold, California. The High School program went on a weekend trip to the snow. Approxamently 23 high school students went and each one of them had a smile on their faces. From throwing snow balls at one another to sledding down a hill, each youth had a blast!

The goal of the trip was to establish a stronger community & family for the high school program of 7 Tepees. The youth were seperated into teams with female team leaders guiding the rest of their team. These teams were responsible to cook and clean for the group after all our scrumtious meals! Everyone pitched in and helped to make the whole process super quick.

Community building activities helped create a connection with youth and staff. Personal growth activities such as "Where Do You Stand," in which controversial questions were presented and students/staff stood in a circle to express how they felt about the topics, helped the group to open up and share their true feelings and see each other for who they were, increasing the family environment we have here in our great community we call 7 Tepees.

After packing up and putting the gear away, we had our final circle up, and we all agreed that we were leaving more connected and we wanted to bring this feeling back to the learning center to share with the rest of 7 Tepees.
